The Office of Continuing Education for the Chicago Province sponsored the two-day Study Days, March 19-20, to discuss the Documents of the 19th General Chapter in the newly renovated Wendelin Hall at Techny, Illinois. The new facility, which was the old carpenter shop, accommodated participation both in-person and on Zoom. Approximately 50 confreres attended the Study Days. 

The three capitulars (Father Provincial Adam Oleszczuk SVD, Father Guilherme Andrino SVD and Father Stephen Michael SVD) gave a presentation on the General Chapter. We then divided into small discussion groups to discuss the Characteristic Dimensions (JPIC, Mission Animation, Communication, and Bible) and the General Chapter Resolution, “Our Name is Our mission,” to address the resolved that each PRM develops a plan to implement the statement “Our Name is our Mission” in a concrete, systematic, organized, sustainable and accountable way. 

The conversation was lively, and many good ideas were generated through our discussion that will help the members of the Chicago Province to develop an action plan for the future. We are truly called to be a light for others by being faithful and creative disciples who minister in a deeply wounded world.
