On July 29, two men professed vows at Techny, headquarters of the Society of the Divine Word-Chicago Province. Today, we’d like to introduce you to Quoc Dinh Nguyen SVD.

Ministries during novitiate: Preparing food for the poor once a month on Mondays and tutoring the children at the Holy Spirit Life Learning Center every Monday.
Favorite book: “What’s Your Decision?” by J. Michael Sparough SJ, Jim Manney and Tim Hipskind SJ
When was a time that you felt God’s presence?
I feel God’s presence during the moments of prayer, reflection, worship and daily life events.
When did you first feel the call to be a missionary?
When I was in my second year of university in Vietnam.
How has living with the SVD brothers and priests at Techny inspired you?
The community provides a supportive environment for discernment, encouragement and spiritual growth.
What was the biggest challenge during this past year?
There was no biggest challenge for me during this past year.
What are your hopes for the coming year?
I hope to deepen my spiritual life, acquire new skills and knowledge for effective mission work, engage in meaningful service to others, and foster intercultural understanding.
